Im just about to purchase a rear-view cam for when im reversing, has anyone had experience in this feild, where would the best place be to put one...

A - Under the break light inside the car or

B - Get a number plate template cam

The ones that fit in the plate area would be better as the perspective will be best.

A camera mounted higher may miss low level obstructions.

The only problem with those that fit in the number plate area is the wireing is going to have to travel a long way up to the top of the tail gate, into the headlining and back down to connect to the power to the reversing lights and on to the monitor.

I fitted one in the lower part of the rear bumper and took the wires up into the rear quarter panel to avoid all that on the Focus Estate I used to own.
