Our 2009 1.25 Fiesta sounds like a sewing
machine on idle, especially with the bonnet up. I was initially concerned when I owned the car from new, but nearly 4 years on it's the same. An engine will inevitably bed in over the years, and the sounds it makes will alter... I wouldn't worry about it, it is still in warranty after all

I've been trying to think of a word to describe it but a sewing machine is spot on!
