Nipz
Hey, In my old corsa when you turned the engine off but left the key in the radio would stay on, until you pulled it out. Is this possible on the new fiesta because its really annoying me when i turn the engine off but still want to listen to music, say when im waiting for something outside their house. If im on the phone and turn it off it will stay connected etc. Hope someone can tell if its possible Ben

smurfs
If you turn the ignition off then press the radio on button it will stay on for approx 1 hour, or until you turn it off.

Yea noticed it says 1 hour mode but still a pain. Dont no why it cant just stay on until i take the key out like the corsa, makes a lot more sense! Yeah, I have done this many a time!! Lol, but I think after the hour it refuses to come back on unless you start the engine?
Russ
I would hardly call pressing a button a pain! If you switch your engine off and leave the key at posn1 in the lock the radio stays on. ( don't turn the key against the stop)
JAR897
Its to do with the way the radio is ultimately wired to the batterie. In corsas the wiring is done in such a way so it takes aditional power from the battery even when the car isn't engaged. However in most modern cars the radio won't play unless the engine is turned on. Its a fail safe which prevents the radio sucking all the juice from said battery. I'm sure it could be altered by changing a single wire (I did it in my old corsa when installing a seperate head unit). Accessing the wire in the fiesta could be an issue however. lol. (Sorry I can't be more specific). On the subject of power etc, does anyone know how you like do the equivilant to engaging the battery but not the engine (i.e. two clicks with the key when inserted into the ignition switch) but via the power stop/start button? sussex
Who wants to sit in their car with the engine off but the stereo on for over one hour? Pressing one button to start the stereo again is something I can live with.
MichellefromEssex
On a similar note - the windows, i find its a pain if i have my window open and then switch the car off before putting the window up, on previous cars, I have still been able to use the control to put the window up without the ignition being on. On my BMW if I left the window open, when I pressed the remote to lock the doors any windows open would automatically close too - but there again my BM was a lorra lorra money lol
jma78b
I have an Astra and if I leave the window open and take key out, I need to put it back in and turn it to I to get the window back up again. Cheaper car I guess

TitaniumSteve
The Fiesta radio will stay on when you turn the engine off. Just only turn it back to the auxillary power setting thats one click back, then the ignition is off but radio on. You just can't turn the key back completly. I am always usiing this setting whilst waiting for customers. Michelle I know what you mean about the windows it drives me mad whem I am talking to the pupils and I can't open a window to breath. Nipz
When i say pain i mean its not normal for me! The windows drive me even madder (sure thats a word) :D Just dont see why its just not an option in the radio to change it!

To be honest, you just become lazy when you're molly coddled with electrics, saying that, my BMW has electric everything bar toothbrush, so I've no room to talk. Air Hostess
Sorry guys, had a rather bad BLONDE MOMENT there, went and checked my radio.and the hand book and you are right you cant get it to stay on for more than an hour with the ign turned off,had a good twiddle with buttons knobs switches.read book, had another twiddle, cup of coffee, more twiddling, nope wont do it so apologies all round,...................still in Mondeo mode :( as regards the Magnolia leather,as soon as i get the time ,taking it to a interior trimmer (seen his work before real good stuff) as see how much its going to cost to get the thing trimmed with black piping on the seams........ RR and Bentley style but have to watch the cost Kristal
