Mk2 gear selector leak

I have a leak on a mk2 07 plate focus coming from the gearbox selector seal, I had this replaced and it didn't fix the leak. I was told by the mechanic that the shaft the seal is connected to must be worn and would need to see a gearbox specialist. Has anyone had or seen this problem before if so what's involved in the fix and cost. Thanks in advance

    I currently have a leak in the seal too and hope it's not as bad as that how much did they charge to replace it?

    I only got charged £10 for the new seal as it didn't fix the leak
