Driver Assist Pack or no Driver Assist Pack, that is thy question?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently (Saturday) bought a 2012 Titanium X Ford Focus which detailed the car to have the driver assist pack, however upon picking it up all I could see was the rear view camera on the centre display when reversing (beeps too!). I was under the impression that the pack came with the traffic sign recognition software, low speed safety system, Blind spot information system plus lane assist?

Am I thinking wrong in thinking this considering the advert listed the driver assist pack? or is the camera the only thing that's listed as the driver assist pack?

Thank you

Regards

Kris

hi kris, think you`ll find it won`t have any of the listed above on the car, mine hasn`t but it does have the driver assist parking that will park the car for you, mine has that but never even tried it in the 4yrs of haveing my car . i don`t have the camera on mine so yours must have been fitted as an extra :w00t:

Ah ok Andy, thank you for replying, I was getting my hopes up then when I read it had the driver assist pack :/

this is from youtube in 2010 and says:

The new Ford driver assistant systems feature a blind spot information system, a speed limiter and an active park assistant - for reaching your destination with reduced stress and increased comfort and safety.

This is in 2010 and for Fiesta so I know does not match your car

Titanium X should have come with park assist as standard on the mk3, that's the rear view camera setup with self-park.  Andy, you should have the camera on yours as well, how would you select which bay it should park in without a camera?

Driver assist pack is an optional extra, as you say it includes blind spot mirror and traffic sign recognition.  Car salesmen seem to like adding the work 'pack' into their listings, half the time they're wrong lol!

My 2012 Tit X Focus, like Andy's, doesn't have a rear view camera. It can automatically parallel park on the road side but it doesn't do bay parking.

That's odd, I wonder if it become standard later on in the Mk3 or was just a very common option, I was after a TitX and looked at a few before settling for a standard Titanium, all the X's I looked at had the rear view camera.

Active Park Assist does not use a camera. This system only uses the front and rear parking sensors and rear ABS sensors that can detect the rotation direction.

The Focus MK3 Active Park Assist system has 10 parking sensors (6 at the front and 4 at the back). This system only supports parallel parking.

The Focus MK3.5 Active Park Assist system has 12 parking sensors (6 at the front and 6 at the back). This system supports both parallel parking and perpendicular parking. Next to this this system also has the Park-Out Assist.

Thanks guys, looks like mine only has the reversing camera and can parallel park although I haven't tried this out as yet.
