Ford focus 1900 tdci intermittent power loss

Featured Replies

Apologies if this is already a thread. For the last 2 years my focus has frequently been losing all power. There is no warning or performance problems experienced beforehand,  it just comes to a standstill. I switch it off and on again and it continues with no problem. There is no warning on the dash and nothing shows up on the Ford garage computer.  Mechanics I have spoken to haven't come across this problem and can't suggest a solution, so I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same.  I have had a few close encounters on motorways when it happens at high speed and I have had nowhere to escape to safety and to be honest I'm nervous on busy roads. I drive 104 miles to work on a 70mph road so it frequently gets a good run. Thanks in advance

can you clarify engine size. there isn't a 1900 is there?
