Hi, any know if the following mods are achievable and how on the MK8 ST-Line:

1. Auto wipers

2. Centre armrest console

3. 8” Screen

4. Auto-Climate control

Is Forscan working for the MK8 now?

Buy the model with them?

They will all be possible however the price will be seriously high - especially as it’s a new car so things like the 8” screen won’t be available from breaker cars as not many will have crashed.

auto-climate control if it’s like the MK7 is near impossible if you have the manual climate control due to the loom and sensor differences.

Unless you can’t stand the car without those features, I’d recommend waiting a bit. Don’t be surprised if it costs you more than it would have at build (parts+labour) as it won’t be cheap for a long time!

The MK8 differs from the 7.5 in that the heater panel is electronic and the air system has servos like the climate control system has. It stands to reason that maybe all that is required is the climate control heater panel perhaps?

Also, all models have auto headlights and as the sensor is usually a combined rain/light sensor, it also stands to reason it might be just disabled in the BCM and just needs turning on with Forscan?

Armrest console might also be a straightforward swap with the standard console like the 7.5 and ambient lighting enabled using Forscan too..

As for the 8” screen, it could also be a straight swap..

As for buy a model with all these features, well, yes but it all depends on finances and with a £3k difference in offer prices, there’s no way these mods will be anywhere near this figure.

I’m just wondering if you have fitted an armrest? I’ve just ordered my MK8 ST-Line (take delivery this Thursday) and want to retrofit an armrest. I’ve seen the one you’ve mentioned on Ford Accessories, and I’ve also seen one out of a titanium on a breakers. 

If you’ve fitted the Armster, what is it like. Also, has anybody retrofitted one from a higher spec as you could in the MK7?
