AUX Lead Part Number?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I need to replace my aux connector as it's loose so the jack falls out. I can find the actual connector but I want to relocate it so I'm trying to find the actual oem lead part number so I can order it and just route it to the switch blanks under the radio.

Or is it just easier to re-route the existing lead?

Also, slight side-question - The aux connector in the focus is a light grey colour so stands out. Can I use a black one from a Fiesta instead? Or would that kit work full stop?

I have the Sony radio btw, not the stock 6000CD unit

TIA

Slightly different link to the one I linked above, and same image, but thanks for clarifying. The black socket will look a lot neater

That's the one I have, light grey in colour and in the glove box. If I'm going to relocate it I'd rather the Fiesta MK6 one as it's black/dark grey in colour so would look better on/around the dash. Thanks though!

Hey!

Sorry i must of misread...

The fiesta numbers arent to dissimilar... so make sure you jot them down carefully!

Sorry to bring this back to life, but makes sense as it's of a related nature...

How do you remove the existing aux connector in the glove box? I know I have to remove the lining of the glove box but the socket seems to be quite firm in. Do I have to faff about splitting the two parts apart, or will brute force get it out? I'm gonna get the black 'Fiesta' connector as it will look neater than the original grey one (I assume they use he same connector/wiring from what I can tell?)

When you remove the liner and unplug the cable you will see the two locking lugs on the socket (one top and one bottom).
Inside the rear of the socket are small slots which correspond to the locking lugs, use watchmakers screwdrivers or suchlike and push into the slots.
This disengages the locking lugs and the inner part of the socket will slide out which shrinks the collar on the outside sleeve allowing it to be withdrawn from the mounting hole in the liner.

I did think it would be something like that, makes sense. Still trying to decide to relocate the socket to a blank under the stereo or just replace the port in the glove box...

Thank you muchly!
