gillyallan
When I'm washing car myself I'm always a little concerned over leaving fob in the car. As otherwise my doors constantly lock and unlock as I brush against handles, the downside being someone nicking car if I happen to go get something etc. However I'm now wondering if there would be some safer option within valet mode. Is there something in there to majorly limit car? Ie. Not allowed to start.
alexp999
Can't you just leave your keys indoors? That's what I do.
gillyallan
Probably but I open doors to clean the sills and particularly the boot lower part. Usually have music on also...but yeah it is an option
alexp999
Yeah just unlock the car and open a door to disengage auto relock then put the keys in the house, can clean, do sills, open doors, touch handles, doesn't matter then.

DJ_Andy_M
The only valet mode is on the touch screen. You can't lock your key inside the car as the car knows its in there. Try locking it in the boot, it pops back open. As regards someone stealing your car while you're washing, you'd be unlucky. I always lock my car when I go back inside mind. gillyallan
You'd be surprised who is watching and if stolen there'll be no claim as fob left inside. I'll go with the unlock then open door and put back in house. Not sure why I didn't think of that before asking. Doh!
