I own a 2007 Ford Fiesta 1.4 equipped with a DURASHIFT EST transmission. Today, the transmission malfunction warning light was activated. the car is still able to be driven but only at AUTO Mode. Late at the afternoon i removed the cables from the transmission ecu which are connected at the two activators, i cleaned them and i re installed them back without succeeding something. 

It has to be noted that at the morning i noticed that the "brake light switch" on the brake pedal was not functioning and i ordered a new one. As i noticed this switch is used also for starting the engine.

Can you please give me any guidelines in order to move on the correct way for solving this problem?
