What version of sync is this?

Featured Replies

It has satnav built in but not sure what version it is.

Is it sync 2 or 3?

It’s in a 2014 facelift focus with the large grill.

Sorry, my phone didn’t show me your reply when I made mine.

Are there any known issues with Sync 2?

I’m currently using Sync 1.0 and hoping to buy this car.

sync 3 form 66 up

so its sync 2

Didn't think the facelift came in until 15?

Anyway this will be sync 2.

Sync 3 came in in late 17 in the UK I think.

It can be painfully Slow, plus the touch screen is cumbersome to use on the move due to poor sensitivity and small icons.

How well does the voice command stuff work with features. Such as setting a new destination on the satnav for example.

It does work but painfully slow and never really used that. That said I don't use the voice command stuff in the Sync 3 cars me and Mrs have atm either.

On Sync 2 I found it slow and so hit and miss that I gave up.  Sync 3 is much better and I use it all the time.

Hm. It is slower than sync 3 but it isn't awful.

The sections for devices from the home screen are an entire quadrant of the screen, so not exactly difficult to press. Some of the options within may be a little smaller, but again, not unmanageable.

The voice commads I thought were no less responsive than sync1, and the accuracy of things like addresses was pretty good.

Entering addresses by hand was a bit slow because the list of possible entries updated with each letter you typed, but doing it through voice is much quicker.

I would say sync 2 is a massive improvement on sync 1 but then so is Sync 3 on sync 2 and the possibility of upgrading in future is there.

never noticed speed, but in a soft squidgy longish wheelbase Mondeo its impossible to navigate about using on screen icons even as a passenger.... so with our hopeless roads and a short, stiff focus should be interesting.

as you say the icons u press are 4 times smaller than they need to be, which could so easily be fixed with a 10 second firmware tweak.  Makes you wonder what halfwits work on designing stuff these days

If it’s better than 1.0 I’ll be happy 😊

Can't be right, just bought a 17 plate (early 2017, registered March 2017) Focus ST-2, it has Sync 3.

Fair enough, I'm open to being wrong!
