cormskie
I was about to change the air filter on my 2005 1.6 petrol when re Haynes manual I see that something isn't right, I believe I have a 1.8 air filter assembly on my 1.6 engine? I was at local motor factors today and bought a flat filter for my 1.6 Engine but I think I need a cone shape for my current setup? Confused Please see photos
JW1982
A 2005 Focus with Petrol engine should have a flat panel filter. in 2007 (combined with the small interior facelift) Ford changed the design of the air filter housing. From that time all engine types (except the MK2/MK2.5 ST) do have the same conical shaped air filter.
mjt
That would explain why, having just checked our 2010 model 1.8, it has the filter box shown in the Haynes as being fitted to the 1.6.

biff55
the air box shown in the photo has a flat panel filter surely ? the drum filter has a completely different shaped air box meaning that cormskie bought the correct item
