Hey guys!

 

so complete newbie here and already in need of assistance, I’ve blown the gearbox in my fusion, it’s a 1.4 zetec on a 61 plate. So I’ve got a new box, stripped the old one off and replaced it. And upon rebuilding it I’ve discovered a wire that I don’t recall disconnecting, and can’t seem to find where it goes. I’ve tried to start the car but when IGN is turned on it instantly tells me engine failure and beeps quickly saying temperature too hot although car hasn’t been started in days. The wire in question stops this when earthed, but when key is turned to crank the electric system shuts down completely for a few minutes.

its a blue and black wire with a loop connection right behind the battery tray by the wiring block which has a 10mm bolt.

any ideas what this wire is.. and more importantly, where the hell does it go?!?
