Mk3 1.6tdci 95ps to 115ps???

Featured Replies

Hi im Daniel from Sweden!

My very first post here yay!! 😄

I have a 2011 Foci with the very ECO friendly 95ps 1.6tdci its fine for everyday city drives but some more hp wouldnt hurt. 😁

So im curious if anyone have tried flashing the ecu or geting a used ecu from the brakers to "unlock" those extra 20hp?

Since the engine is the same in both??? This could be possible dont you think?

I have been tinkering around in Focccus and googling but have nt find any info on this.

Regards Daniel

Welcome to the forums.

Unfortunately the cars are not mechanically the same so it isn't as simple as flashing or replacing the ECU.  It's come up a few times on here, I'm sure some of the 1.6 TDCi owners will be along shortly to provide more details.

i might be wrong but i think someone told me they have a different turbo (variable vane on the higher power one). Don't take that as gospel I might have got it wrong

I'd also heard the same on more than 1 occasion.

Different turbo, injectors and a few other bits.  Just a remap should give you ~110bhp without any other mods though, ask a reputable mapper in your area and see what they say.
