Seat reclining pull button not working

Featured Replies

Hi, the pull down thing to get the drivers seat to come forward to let passengers out of the back seat is broken. Is it an easy fix or costly? It’s a fiesta 05 A reg if that makes any difference. Any help is appreciated

"fiesta 05 A reg." not sure what reg / year you mean. if it's 2005 - it is common for the handles to break, you can get replacements on ebay etc, but they can break again. On a friend's 2004 Fiesta they both broke for a second time. I could still see the ends of the metal cables (much more of a problem if that drops down too far). I pulled off the moving part of the handle from the surround.  I pulled the cable up a bit with pliers and tied a shoe lace on to the cable below the nipple. I then tied the shoe lace into a loop. Now you just pull on the looped shoe lace. Looks horrible, works fine. She was very pleased with the result.  I was thinking of doing it with cable ties but I think they would cut into your hands more when pulling. The shoe lace solution has been fine for over a year now.

Checks all moving part haven't been jammed with small items that easy jammed moving part, it happen my driver seat, it look like cable have been broke but found tiny scissor badge that jammed it. Remove it and put WD40, it work like charm. If they don't work, it must be cable snapped, it common for Fiesta MK6 breaking cable.
