Mk7 Mods

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’m just starting to modify my facelift mk7 fiesta and I’ve already had some issues.

So I’ve got some lowering springs and I noticed the rear top pad on the current springs has deteriorated and needs replacing. Is it worth paying the extra money for the powerflex pads? Or keep them standard? Also is there anything else worth replacing, on the front or rear, while I’ll do the swap?

I would also like an air filter but have no idea which one to get, any suggestions?

Also I would like a remap but nothing silly, like maybe 130/140bhp ish. I currently have 99bhp. Again any suggestions?

Any other recommendations for mods?

In the interests of getting Powerflex pads I wouldn't bother as I don't think you'll benefit much unless you go for a full replacement shocks springs etc... So just keep standard and save your cash for your remap.

Air filter depends on what you feel like they don't make much noticeable difference other than sound so go for a open K&N filter for noise although the normal panel filter they do will suffice.

For a remap it's important you find somewhere that will write a custom map for you to get the power you're after instead of just maxing out, I've found a lot of places even the big names that do remaps often miss out parts of the map, I had a custom remap at West Yorkshire Tuning and the lad was very thorough and did a great job even kept the torque limiter for 1st and 2nd to protect my gearbox as I requested.

Other mods well it's the small subtle changes that make all the difference so maybe aluminium pedals, interior LED ambient lighting from Autobeam, pay to have it professionally detailed or do it yourself if you are brave enough, I detail my car every 6 months or before a car show, bare in mind it takes a long time and you have to be patient but the pay off is amazing and keeps your car cleaner for longer, if you're after advice on detailing Ginger on here is a guru.

Thank you very much, I’ll have a look into all of that. Do you recommend any other mods?
