I'm thinking of getting a new car this autumn or next spring and have been looking at the latest Fiesta spec.  I see that the MPG of the auto version is much worse than the manual gearbox with the same engine, so I am wondering if Ford have reverted to a traditional torque converter auto gearbox given the problems they have had with the Fiesta Powershift.  

I have looked at the Kuga and similar vehicles but being on the short side I like to raise the seat height but this makes getting in and out awkward.  I also looked at the EcoSport but that is not the car for me. This morning I parked beside a Mazda CX-3.  It was only slightly bigger than my Fiesta and slightly taller but not as tall as a full size SUV so I will have a look at that.
