2014 Focus 1.0L is it breather or pressure release

wife is looking at a 2014 1.0L Eco boost Focus. Will use it as a Town car, not long distance motorways

I understand there is a gearbox pressure release value or breather, looks to be on top of the bell housing.

Is it a bad sign if this has released any oil? Should the car be avoided?  Dealer does not think it a problem but I see "a pressure release valve operating" as a bad sign as something

is going wrong but is it a pressure release valve or a breather, even if a breather is it a bad sign if oil has come out of it?

Can you advise on this valve/breather?

    A bump on this, what could be allowing oil to spew over bell housing, the near side of the engine bay a little off centre? Does not look like a gasket leak
