catalytic converter or Not

just recently noticed the egg smell when I start the engine with the interior fan on ?

cant smell it in engine bay or exhaust end , had someone follow me for a few miles said

no smell from the car ?????

its not constant just every now and again

any advice would be appreciated , before I throw money at it Thanks

I reckon the most likely culprit will be the ventilation system, it might just be that the pollen filter is really manky, on the MK2 Focus they're awkward to change unless you have the "knack".  Seeing as they are cheap potential fixes I'd suggest replacing the pollen filter if it's not been done in the last year and get some A/C system anti-bac cleaner (you spray it into the vents).

Replaced the pollen filter no change I'll have to try anti bacteria spray see if that solves it .thanks
