Disapearing Coolant

Featured Replies

So wonder if anyone has any ideas. 6 months ago I noticed a small leak. I have a 03 1.4l fiesta. Using radweld I stopped the leak.

The hot hot weather came and 2 weeks ago I stopped at a petrol station and noticed coolant over the floor. I drove home added more radweld (I know not a great move it’s a commuter car and only need it for a few more months)

since then I am going from max to min on the expansion tank every 140 miles (per day). I have no apparent leak and no over heat on the temp gauge. The blowers are ridiculously hot even when on cold.

Where is the coolant going. No apparent head issues. My theory is the radiator is so clogged with radweld it is just overheating and escaping from the pressure valve in the cap?

im guessing at this point. Any ideas things to check. Should I change the radiator. All help greatly appreciated thanks.

I’m thanks are there any known areas to check on it. Would this cause it disappear.

Around the mounting lugs I have renewed loads of these in my 28 years as a mechanic
