ECU problem?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Ford Fiesta 1. 6 TDCi start stop 2014 model. I keep getting engine codes p0100 (MAF circuit malfunction), c2a00(not sure)  and codes p0111 (air intake temperature) p0200(injector circuit malfunction) coming up about once a week. Always in pairs and turning the start stop function off. The car runs perfectly normally with no problems. Ford main dealer changed the EGR valve which seemed to cure it for a few months. Also has new fuel filter and battery. The wiring looks physically sound as far as I can tell. I've also fitted an extra earth lead to the engine and the ECU. Any ideas as to what to check next?

Thanks for reading.

Rob

Sounds awfully like the problems we're having with our son's 58 plate Fiesta, same codes et . A good hard drive used to help it but it now needs an injector replaced.

Is stop/start a good idea for diesel?

The start stop (econetic) is to reduce air pollution when in a traffic. It also brings it into the zero road tax category. Mine starts within a fraction of a second when you put your foot on the clutch, allowing a quick pull away even at traffic lights.

I was thinking more that the engine won't get hot enough to burn off/clean out injectors etc but maybe technology has moved on a bit in the last few years and negates that problem.

Yes it is turned of for the first 10 minutes or so of the drive. It is also turned off when it's around freezing and during the very hot weather we've had recently. It monitor's battery voltage as well so the heated screen turns it off. There is a switch to turn it off as well.

I drove the car harder today not letting the revs drop below 2000 which is second gear in a 30 mile an hour limit. But still got the codes p0200 and p0111 came up.

I take it you cleared the codes before driving?

Yes.

Car is fixed now. It turned out that my cheap code reader was giving wrong codes. It was a faulty MAF sensor and poor earth to MAP sensor.
