natedawg8t6
Hi all. The wife has a 2010(59) 1.6tdci Ford Focus. We have a 4week old little girl and she wants to be able to put her in the front seat when shes out and about. Ive gone to switch the airbag off in the glovebox but there is no switch!! After abif of research, ive read that it was an optional extra and that ford do a retrofit kit. I went into ford and asked about it at the service desk he kinda knew what i was on about, went to the parts desk and he said they only do a switch. Does anyone know anything about this and is it something i can fit myself? Thanks in advance

ashmicro
I have a 2010 Focus. If you remove the inside of the glovebox, there is a connector tied up out of the way in there. I don't know what it's for. I think it's black with a red inner part, if memory serves. Wonder if that's the wiring for the airbag switch? Stoney871
The wiring is in place for the switch as above. To install the system you need the switch fitted into the glovebox recess, a warning light in the far left hand side switch panel next to the windscreen demister button and activating by a Ford dealership. They are very reluctant to activate this and if you do find one that will they will most likely get you to sign a disclaimer form.Btw, the deactivation switch and warning light aren't cheap.Sent from my SM-G965F (S9+)
