Display surround trim flaking paint

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

I have bought a Fiesta Titanium 61 plate ( with Sony Stereo ) and noticed that there is some paint flaking from display surround trim ( just belowe the screen ) im thinking this is because of heat produced from Sony stereo as I have seen that on more than one fiesta with Sony in it. I have ordered new trim on ebay and going to replace it but if I put some aluminum tape on the trim before I replace it, would it prevent from flaking the paint off in the future? Picture of the new trim below. Sorry my car isnt near me at the moment to show the actual problem.

My 2014 non-Sony has done the same. I thinks it’s just a combination of heat and poor paint finish. You can sand, prepare and repaint. The aluminium tape is not a bad idea - I might try that myself.
