Focus MK3 Missing GPS Module?

Featured Replies

Good morning,

I have a couple of queries around my MK3 Titanium X Spec Focus and will do seperate posts.

The car has SYNC 1.1 with Navigation and Emergency Assist and all sorts of other bells and whistles.

I was given the windscreen a thorough clean the other day, and removed the plastic cover behind the rear view mirror.  I saw there was a wiring loom which was still wrapped up and an empty square space where something can be clipped in.  The rain and light sensor can be seen at the bottom and is connected as expected.

I was looking at what this loom and space could be for and it appears that it is for a GPSM Module, possibly part number DE8T-19H463-DC.  Some people say that this is related to Emergency Assist, I have this enabled on my car and it doesn't prompt saying there is any issue with this as I understand that it does tell you if there is a problem.

Is this something I need to be worried about? or is it that this module is located in another area for the SYNC 1.1 system?

Cheers
