'58' Reg 2009 1.6 Tdci Water Leak

Featured Replies

Hi

Have a 58 reg 2009 model 1.6 TCDI Focus Zetec and have just notice under drivers footwell is all wet (only owned the car since Jan).

At present carpet is not wet, but insulation is all wet. Only noticed when looking at VIN number!!

Is this common on the new shape Focus? Any pointers or is it again a 'back to main dealer!!'? Car has original windscreen and nothing looks untoward to me!!

Door seal all appears ok .

Thanks again, Starting to get concerned !

Cheers TB

call the dealer and tell them you want it looked at asap and that they will be responsible for water damage as its leaking the minute the front tray is removed the seal has to be replaced which is a dealer part anyway i suggest you strongly asdvise tham that with bad weather forecast you want it done now not in a month it needs to be fixed now really the plastic cover at the front of windscreen unscrews and between the window and the cover there is a double sided seal that goes on preventing water ingress its easy to check but if you disturb it it will need replaced check the passenger side it see if thats wet with it being the drivers side it really needs looked at as the waters coming in from either the window rubber grommat to the engine bay or the opollen filter
