2015 Ford Fiesta SE

Before the ac stopped blowing cold completely, it would run fine then randomly start blowing warm air and I noticed a smell from the vents, almost like a stale smell. I had it sent for a diagnosis and the notes read as:

”Evacuated all refrigerant present in system and completed pressure test to check for leaks. Recharged AC system with R134A refrigerant. Found cooling fan not coming on, causing ac compressor not to work.”

They said it could be a bad wire, but wouldn’t be able to check until next Friday. 

Any ideas to guide me where or what to check next?
