Mk6 Fiesta bonnet pull handle part number

I purchased a used genuine Fiesta Mk6 bonnet pull handle from eBay, but when I received it, I noticed it's shorter than the old pull handle that broke on my Fiesta.

My Fiesta is a 3-door 2008 Mk6 1.25 petrol (2002-2008). The part number I purchased from eBay is 5S6H-16B632-AC (and it's definitely a genuine Fiesta Mk6 part) whereas the part number on my old pull handle is VP2S6H-16B632-AE . Both are Fiesta part numbers but they differ in length for some reason.
 
I fitted the eBay part to my Fiesta but a couple of times when I dropped the bonnet to close it, the pull handle retracted and then got caught behind the grill. Any idea why there are two different length pull handles for a Mk6 Fiesta? I might have to return the eBay part.
 
Update: I spoke to the seller and he was very understanding, and said a return is not a problem. Interestingly, he asked if my Fiesta is a 1.6 diesel as all front panels are the same except for the 1.6, and 06 & 08 grills are the same except the ST.
 
Update 2: I found this link on eBay for a brand new genuine part but it seems to only fit 1.6 TDCi and ST150 engines. The seller I purchased the new part from (100% feedback) said that the part he supplied came off a 2007 1.25 - interesting.
