Loss of Coolant/plug wells issue

Featured Replies

Focus 05 1.6 LX

I am just after a bit of advise with a few issues i have on my car, recently noticed my coolant was nearly empty and topped it back up, it appears after a week of moderate driving its back to under minimum but i cant see any leaks or faulty cap or pipes so i decided to check under the oil cap for a potential gasket problem but no while sludge or funny smells. The next thing i checked was the plug holes under the coil leads and i can see what looks like a mixture of water "not coolant" and oil, I believe the water has come through the wiper spray holes which is a problem for another day!

My question on the above is could the coolant loss be related to the oil in the wells as that seems to me it could need a gasket cover replacement? I'm not sure the best course of action with this as the car is pretty old and done 90k.

Cheers

Mike
