1.8 mk2 tdci cutting out

Featured Replies

Hi folks.

Had a problem with the car today.

Wondering if anyone can shed any light on what may be the problem.

Symptoms.

Cruises fine on motorway.

As soon as you come off motorway and down to an idle speed car cuts out and doesn't start.

Car starts again after 5 minutes.

First happened when I came off at services at Gretna.

And again when I came off for Kendal.

Rev engine up and when coming back down to idle it's a little rough between 1k and 2k rpm.

Fine when driving round country roads. Just seems to be after consistent motorway speeds.

Called AA out. No fault codes. Thinks maybe injector problem.
