Power Steering stopped working after a light accidents

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, I was involved in a very light accident a month ago, no airbags deployed. But I have issues with power steering and a dead battery. so when I jump start the car power steering is not working. Low battery voltage can affect power steering? or is there something else I should check?

Ford Fiesta 2018 5 door Titanium.

Thank you

Could be damage to the wiring for the electric power steering or the rack its self , i would get it checked out hope you have the insurance details of the third party if it wasnt your fault could be expensive.

If there isn't enough charge in the battery the power steering may not come on. Charge the battery up or replace it (shouldn't need replaced if it's only a 2018 model), if getting jump started, leave the engine running for a while to let it start, then restart the car (assuming your alternator isn't damaged and it isn't able to charge the battery, or something else damaged with charging mechanism due to the accident).
