Brake Caliper Paint

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have been looking at painting my Brake Calipers and wanted to know what paint people would recommend. Reading reviews online there seems to be a lot of mixed reviews!

Thanks

Aaron

You can use proper high temp caliper paint if you want, but I and many others have used Hammerite with decent results and it's a lot cheaper.

I've also used Poundland black paint on drums before!

For maximum performance and street credit I'd use plenty of masking tape,

Spray on some primer then spray on the colour

Also ensure to paint both sides evenly otherwise the vehicle will torque steer towards the side which has less performance.

[emoji1787] torque steer from paint don’t think so. I have enough torque steer as it it!

Remember to get plenty paint on the discs to help dissipate the heat 😉 😎

My ST has the Style Pack which includes red calipers. Do Ford sell that paint?

Go straight for the upgrade appearance paint them mountune yellow

I guess an email to either Ford or Mountune asking what paint they use might prove fruitful.

I used simoniz engine enamel paint (gloss black). You only need this and nothing else to paint the calipers. I painted the calipers and carriers and splash shields.
