Timing belt replacement

Featured Replies

Bought 2005 focus 1.6 saloon lx 2 weeks ago, car dealer assured me timing belt was done but no markings on engine, car was well looked after, car dealer said i should change belt again at 300000kms,currently 211000 on it, should i change it now or is there a way i can check it, also coolant seems almost clear with a hint of yellow, put sample in my freezer overnight and it didnt freeze, never heard of clear coolant, any suggestions please

Not sure about the coolant, but easiest way of checking if the timing belt has been done is a service history. If the history isn't provided before the sale then you should be knocking money off accordingly as you have to assume it hasn't been done.
