tried the smaller socket mate didnt work, how would i drill it out mate??

I had this very same problem on our old car. I called into our local tyre guy and he got it off. You could try a local independent tyre dealer before attempting it yourself.

smaller socket solution - this is when it's good to have a metric socket set and a non-metric socket set as it's easier to find one of just the right size that will hammer on there and grip it.

and they need to be decent quality sockets so the metal is hard enough to cut into the nut sides.

You would need special drill bits and it’s still hard work, if the tyre fitters can’t do it perhaps someone with a welder could weld a short bolt onto it and then use a normal socket.

Thanks for your help folks, the garage got it off for me today, just hammered a special socket on and off it came, very relieved
