okay here we go again youre mpg is fine in fact its normal as we keep saying to all the other posts diesels are not town cars they only give good mpg on motorways long distance thay are not economical cars for town driving doing lots of stop start driving in fact petrols are pretty much either equal or better this misconception people have that if its diesel it will go on and on on 20 quid of fuel is wrong if you did all motorway diving youde easily see 45mpg plus in town doing the driving you are 31mpg is actually pretty good sorry if i sound rude but this forum is full of the same questions and its just because people dont really understand diesels so i apologise if i do sound rude in anyway if you were expecting more from it then you wont mate if you do lots of town driving youll get 31-35mpg from it hit the motorway or drive lkong distance youll see figures in the high 40s sorry if it wasnt what you wanted to hear but thats the problem these days diesels are marketed in such a way that people think they are beter off with them but manufacturers dont mention its very dependant on driving and where you drive

Yeah, 30mpg round town sounds pretty normal, depending on how you drive. On a long run will be much more economical.
