Styrofoam storage around spare necessary in mk2?

Featured Replies

I've just bought a 2007 Mk2 Focus. The previous owner has changed the space saver spare wheel to a full size one and added a styrofoam storage thing around it which makes the boot carpet mat level over the spare wheel. I need boot space for a pushchair so I want to revert back to having a space saver spare wheel. Some people are selling the space saver wheel with a styrofoam storage thing (albeit less deep looking than what I have now).

The photo shows what it looks like without the mat now.

Do I need to buy another styrofoam storage thing to go around the space saver wheel for the boot carpet mat to be level? Or is it an optional extra?

Cheers,

Alex

No styrofoam needed when just using the spacesaver. The  top of the spacesaver is flush with the boot floor, which the boot carpet just sits straight on top.
