Seat tilt clips

Featured Replies

Hi, both of the clips that you use to tilt the front seats forward have broken. Im guessing its a wire inside as the plastic clips are still attached. Is this an easy fix?

they break at the plastic clips most times remove the plastic clip and check there

do you mean the plastic bits you pull up to release the front seat tilt catch (3 door cars). on a friends fiesta they both broke. they were both replaced and both broke again after a while. I removed the broken bit of plastic and tied a looped shoe lace around the end of the cable that comes up out of the seat (it's like a bit of bicycle brake cable in the seat back). Doesn't look pretty but does the job.

it would probably have been easier with cable ties but I thought they would cut into the hand more than a nice wide show lace

those plastic bits are the weak link in the seats i like the shoe lace idea
