Broadband help

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Does anyone have Sky broadband? I'm looking to change from BT as quite frankly, they're half the price.

Anyone got experiences with them (Good or bad)? Particularly in the East Midlands area (if this is relevant for Internet speeds).

Thanks All!

I had Sky standard broadband for over 3 years.  Wasn't bad overall so if they're offering you a good deal then it could be worth going for.

They've recently put the prices up though (an extra 50% for me!) and I started experiencing drop outs, plus I wanted faster speeds tbh, so changed to TalkTalk FastFibre on a Black Friday deal.  I now get fast fibre (30MB roughly) for cheaper than I was paying on Sky for non-fibre (8MB roughly), even before the price rise, and so far no drop outs or issues on TalkTalk at all in about 6 weeks now.  If you search reviews for any internet provider, you'll find loads of negative ones and poor experiences.  Loyalty also doesn't pay, you have to be prepared to haggle or change once the decent 12m/18m deal runs out with any provider.

Speeds depend on your local area (literally how close you are to the cabinet and even the wiring in your house) rather than a wide are like East Mids.

I'm with bt a fibre deal, for phone line unlimited calls and 50mb speed, actual speed just under 42 for 33 a month. TV is with sky, q box for 20 a month. Lives in Stoke on trent

I'll be upgrading to SkyQ but i think i need to wait until my contract ends to get a better deal than they're offering at the moment. Sky should also be able to sell BT sport then too, the deal i get on this is possibly the only reason im still with BT but they aren't now competitive on price (No surprise im sure).

Sky offered me unlimited Fiber broadband with landline for under £30 per month inc line rental (I actually think it was around £25)......i didn't think it was too bad but sometimes cheap isnt always the best particularly as i live in a pretty rural area.

TV Wise, i was being offered £60 per month for SKYQ with multiroom, HD, Sports and Entertainment package - I'm not going ahead at that price as i believe i can  get it better later in the year when my current contract expires.

Ive a friend in Solihul  whos had no end of problems with Sky, lots of drop outs took ages to fix due to the Sky- openreach battle each blaming each other

I've finally got my refund from Sky...  7 weeks after leaving them.  I wonder what would have happened if I'd waited 7 weeks before paying them.

I just upgraded from Sky Unlimited 11 MB to Sky Fibre 40MB. Includes phone line rental too for £25/month 👍 Our sky Unlimited has been flawless for the 2 years we've been with them.

No issues with sky. Great customer service too
