Ecoboost engine cover

Featured Replies

Hi All

Thought I would treat the car, Mk 8 Fiesta titanium 1.0 ecoboost, too an engine cover.

Found one on the Pumaspeed website under Fiesta Mk 8 1.0 ecoboost, engine, section. Arrived today and doesn't fit. It will fit if you remove the air trunking pipe that runs to the back of the engine bay but then cannot refit the trunking pipe. From the photos you can see there is no clearance at the right hand side of the cover. I know the cover is only laid in position not fitted but you get the idea.

Was an original fit, I believe, on some Focus MK's and fitted some Fiesta's.

Contacted Pumaspeed with photos and have said they haven't come across this problem having sold quite a few of them. Probably not to a Fiesta Mk8 owner. Still waiting for them to come back with an answer but beware it looks like their website is incorrect to what Mk's of Fiesta this item can be fitted to.

Will look to contact them tomorrow if they haven't come back to me with an answer and request a refund.

I fitted 1 of these to my 125bhp - bought it direct from Ford as it was cheaper the Pumaspeed.

It looked identical to yours and all i had to do was loosen the clamp on the air dudt to push it slightly out of the way to get the cover on then retighten afterwards - i'm sure i read somewhere someone else cut a corner off the cover to get it to fit? maybe the cover design has changed?

Hi jsk have a look on sico developments website think he mentions mk8 needs trimming , the cover has been discussed before on this forum but was mk7 car .

I have one for my mk7.5, as mentioned it was slipped in tight under the air duct.

I'd have assumed the mk8's were the same, but maybe not!

Hi All

Finally got it fitted today after some fabrication on my part. Not all of the right hand end cut off. Just deep enough for the remaining depth to fit under the air trunking pipe

Looks good , i think the cover deadens the sound as well and finishes off the engine bay as without it looks busy  and messy .

Hi All

Received an email from Pumaspeed saying they have now amended their website to state that the right hand end has to be trimmed to fit the Mk8. An image will be placed on their website in the near future.
