Not sure what this is...

On both sides of the front footwells there are two black plastic 'pipes' I think they are for the rear passenger heating? Anyways when I drive I literally stand on mine , is this right? I haven't got anywhere to put my left foot otherwise. Am I missing something? Should there be more padding there?

Focus MK2 2005 for reference.

Thanks

This black pipe below, (sorry stole it from another member)

There's one on each side. I guess the passenger would step on them too, but I notice mine more!

That looks like the ducting for the vents situated under the 2 front seats.

Ok. Are you supposed to be able to stand on them then? Or is it just me?

I'm assuming you have flooring over them?

Have never noticed mine in particular, probably do stand on top of them when getting in or moving about though.

The pre lift MK2 ones are a different shape (on mine at least) and don't seem to intrude into the footwell space.  If it's not -15'C tomorrow I'll take the footwell trim off and have a look.  The wife has a MK2.5 i.e. a facelift model and I don't recall ever noticing/feeling the venting under the carpet.  I'll try to have a look at the wife's tomorrow as it maybe there's something missing from yours like a cover/trim or something?

I've just checked on 7-zap.com and it looks like the ducting is the same on the pre and post facelift models, and is exactly as pictured in your pic.

MK2.5 Focus

You can definitely feel them under the carpet in a mk2/2.5 and theyre fine to stand on, the carpet and sound deadening spreads the weight so they won't crush.
