Can't find the heater control valve on 52 plate fiesta.

Help! I have a faulty (I think) heater control valve on my 52 plate fiesta. I purchased a new valve this week and tried to locate the old one to replace it but I can't find it easily. I removed the windscreen wipers first and then took off 2 plastic grills from under the bonnet but still no visible hcv. I have located the pipes and they look like they go into the car under the dashboard but don't want to rip the dash to bits if the hcv is not under there. Does anybody know where the hcv on a 52 plate ghia fiesta is located? No heating at mo and with the weather set to get worse I am desperate to change it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Does a "52 plate fiesta have a HCV ?

    If it is the last of the '95 to '02 it is clearly visible in the plastic bulkhead immediately behind the engine.....

    But f it is the first of the '02 to '08 cars, then I think air mixing is used.
