Wheel spin/hop vibration

Featured Replies

Lately my car seems to wheel spin very easily and sometimes results in a bit of hop and vibration. Do you think replacing the bottom mount will reduce this?

Sounds more like a suspension thing to me.

Tired suspension (springs or dampers) plus power is likely inducing something akin to axle tramping.

Could also be traction control kicking in due to worn tires on damp surfaces?

Thanks I'll investigate further I know the inner parts of my tyres are starting to wear most suspension is replaced so possibly needs tracking done again and new tyres.

The winter weather isn't helping, mine also spins very easily at the moment, the judder is annoying too as it's trying to keep traction.

front wishbone rear bushes in poly can help with wheel hop, especially if yours are worn https://powerflexstore.co.uk/ford/focus-mk2/

Do you know how much to get them pressed on?

Seems a bit obvious but have you checked the tyres? Could also be a suspension issue. I would take it to a garage to get it checked like you said. in the meantime try turning of the traction control. That should stop the annoying vibration.
