iantt
What do you mean deep sleep? The central locking not working?
ianincheshire
It may be just Sync Connect that's gone to sleep, in which case using the remote to open the car and starting it should be all that's required. If the whole system has gone to sleep (I had that happen on my Mondeo) then you'll need to unlock with the manual key blade inside the key fob. Then I believe you put the key fob onto 'home position's pad in the front of the centre console to reactivate the key. Then you're good to go. I'll be interested to know how you get on because I'm about to leave mine for 6 weeks while we head to warmer climes for a 'winter break'
iantt
Normally the newer fords power down completely after 4weeks parked up from what I remember,
ianincheshire
Yes, that's about what happened to the Mondeo. That didn't have anything like Sync connect though. I suspect that part of the system may shut down MUCH earlier. Lets face it you don't want to keep an LTE modem and the sync system.ul for more than a few days because of the battery drain. iantt
Sync shuts down not long after locking car
ianincheshire
But if the vehicle has Ford connect then some of it must still be active. You can remotely get data such as tyre pressures and lock/ unlock doors from the Ford Pass App.

The ones without this feature would go to sleep pretty quick. There must be a time period in days that the car will shut down completely. Not heard of any flat battery issues so far with this feature. To be fair I bet majority of cars are not left for more than a few days before being driven. ianincheshire
Ok , I've found a bit more info on 'deep sleep mode' here https://www.torquenews.com/3768/what-do-if-your-2017-ford-f-150-falls-deep-sleep-mode Seems it sends a message to the Ford Pass App as it goes to sleep, that's presumably what Andyr55 has seen. It does seem to be what I thought, it's the Connect system shutting down comms to preserve battery. This seems the relevant bit of the above link Quote Interestingly, Ford appears to have changed the message that alerts owners that their vehicles have gone into “deep sleep” mode. The message now includes an explanation that “This occurs when your vehicle has been inactive for 14 or more consecutive days. All connectivity to the vehicle, such as vehicle controls, fuel level and vehicle health alerts, will be temporarily disabled until Deep Sleep mode is deactivated. To deactivate Deep Sleep mode, simply manually start your vehicle.”
Freeze
Hi! My situation is somewhat different - it happens with my 2018 MY Ford Focus 1.5 Ecoblue TDCi A8; According to FordPass app, my vehicle drops asleep nearly every day. It happens about 30 mins after stopping car and parking it, sometimes after the Webasto aux heater kicks in. Sometimes, maybe in 10% of the cases, it does not drop to Deep Sleep daily. And for those wandering, Deep Sleep should ONLY initiate when either (A) Your car has not been driven for 14 days or (B) battery voltage is too low. What that spesific voltage is, I don'ät know. My car still starts fine, no problems. Sometimes I've seen a message in central console about system being in sleep mode to conserve battery, when I enter the car. The car has been diagnosed twice, but they have found no flaws. Whether they have also diagnosed the car battery -- which I suspect is the culprit -- I hope so!? I've removed all battery saving settings from my phone to keep FordPass connecting without blocking I've cleared phone cache I've reinstalled the app and re-registered my vehicle I've asked Ford support about this, and they are clearly unable to tell anything beyond "Have you tried rebooting it?" I'm considering starting to charge the car weekly to 100% battery with a 10A smart charger that's capable of producing the higher voltage needed. Nowadays Ford uses Smart Charge, which only charges your car batter to 80% to extend it's life, which is foolish in a cold country like Finland. This setting can be changed during maintenance, but I suspect it migfht cancel your car's / batterys warranty. IDK.
