Bluetooth streaming music and radio concerns...

Featured Replies

I've got an 11 Mondeo. I can make hands free calls but I cannot play music via bluetooth from my phone. I've followed the instructions in the manual, pressed the aux button many times and this does not show bluetooth enabling me to link my phone to stream music.

If I open the glove compartment I have an aux in. Why did they put it there of all places anyway?!

Regarding the radio, I've no idea what I'm doing or not doing but it seems utterly incapable of picking up most radio stations. It can pick up Classical and a couple others but can't pick up Radio 1?! Radio stations are easily lost and can't be found. I live in an urban environment and shouldn't have any problems regarding this. I presume it would be best to contact a radio and audio specialist?

Any assistance on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

From what I see, you have two options.
1. Do some research on the web, i think you can update your Bluetooth capabilities.
2. If that's not helpful, disconnect your battery for half - hour, it will reset your sound system, that can help you (works for me).

I will try and give this a go?

1. https://willtaylor.org/update-ford-audio-bluetooth/
That's the link for the update.
After the reset, try to connect your cell phone via Bluetooth.

Thank you. Unfortunately my head unit doesn't look like that and hasn't got a usb slot that I can see anywhere.

GW
Sure?
Must be some were.
Between your seats or in the glove box.

Its a 2011 model which is included in the patch but is it dealership only?

I'll look about in my car but I've no idea where it might be. I've only got an aux input in the glove compartment.

It might be in there but I might have to take the glove compartment apart?!

Look what I found...
Hope it will help. a2e96ab8864b4f5390c1e7098194c0bf.jpg

Thanks. The instructions are a little vague such as what usb socket, what bezel etc. where I buy it from and so forth but I guess I'll just have to have a go?

GW

Hi

What do you mean by "give it a go"?
By the way, the pic that i added, that's the part number, that fits to your carf6de81c18490c90cc3ff9f2a7371d541.jpg

Remove the glove box and check behind the plate with the aux connector on it. Hopefully the USB cable will just be taped up behind it.

Have you tried having your music already playing on the phone and then pressing the aux button on the stereo?

GW

Yep, streaming works fine.

If you have USB it will be in the glovebox, poking out the right-hand side wall.

It is very possible you don't have USB or streaming as an option on your Bluetooth module though. They can be swapped out for newer versions and the lead added but depending on what you have already you may need to change wiring etc.

Not sure about the post above mentioning a plug hidden behind the left side of the glovebox as that wiring plug is for the Passenger Airbag Deactivation Switch and NOT a USB socket.

I think what I need is a different bluetooth module unit. One with usb connectivity. Part ref: 8M5T-19C112-AXP

I've ordered one for £35 and should be golden!

Where can I get an Aux and USB faceplate to replace my standard Aux faceplate. Thanks.
