I lease a mk8 68 st line fiesta 140bhp. Its only 10 days old.. So far its been ok but im still running it in so not given it any boot yet. I noticed this weekend that both front headlights have a little condensation inside them and one of the spot lights underneath isnt working so im going to ring ford lease tomorrow and get them fixed. These things happen with new cars  so i assume this is unusual and not a common problem. I have also noticed a slight oily smell in the car when the heaters are on so i'll get them to check that too. I have been on the motorway in 6th gear which is nice and was missing from my mk7. How can i tell if i have one of those GPF things on my car?.

I had the mk 7.5 66 st line fiesta ecoboost 140bhp before this. That was a beautiful car to drive and i absolutely loved it. I did 20k in 2 years and i would say it actually felt better the more i drove it. I never had a single thing wrong with it from day one hence why i leased the st line ecoboost 140bhp again.

Any questions feel free to ask.

The condensation in the headlights also occur in my car, I hate the fact it happens as it didnt on my previous vehicle but unless you have water sloshing around in the unit itself, the condensation will be almost certainly classed as normal. I think it's a more common occurrence with newer cars which is a shame.

Regarding the GPF, I wonder if Ford ETIS would say? Does anybody know?

Had a quick look on the configurator for the non-X ST Line and it turns out that you can get them in a pack called ST-Line X Red Pack which includes the partial leather seats but as it's the red pack, you'd have to have the red inserts scattered around the interior which depending on which colour you get your car in will look relatively nice or relatively crap lol

Doesn't look very expensive either, on the configurator it only upped the price by £50 which seems very very cheap for any extra never mind partial leather.

mate thats cheap!

When I ordered my ST-Line X (which of course comes with part leather as standard), the ST Line X Red Pack was something like £150 just for the red bits, so that does look suspiciously cheap.

I remember when ordering mine that the option was around the £150 you mention. I didn’t choose it anyway but I wonder if it’s some sort of a promo offer on the website configurator

No, I didn't go for it either but apparently they've made it standard now anyway and hiked the price accordingly. Or the configurator may be wrong - on the latest price list I have (Feb 2019) the Red Pack is shown as standard on the X but not shown as an option on the ST-Line. They seem to have dropped the ST-1 at the same time, and - according to the price list - the ST-2 has both EATC and  manual air conditioning ?!. Something seems amiss!

When ordering mine I remember the brochures and online info having mistakes in it, looks like Ford need to do some proof-reading before publishing!

If you really want the part leather seats I would think you'd be better off looking for a used X. TBH, if some of the other features I wanted (especially the automatic aircon (EATC) had been available as options on the ST-Line, I wouldn't have bothered with the X, as I'm not personally a fan of the seats. I'm by no means a big chap, but the seat base is so narrow your bum cheeks end up on rather than between the leather bolsters which is not comfy on a chilly morning!😀

I would go with the above, I think on the used market with some careful shopping you’ll be able to find an X for a similar price and you get a lot more kit on those and people are more likely to have spec’d some good extras too

I’ve just had a look on the configurator and when you select the red pack for the non-x it goes down in the summary as ‘Driver’s Seat Lumbar Support’ for £50. Looking in the brochure, it says that the red pack is only on the st-line x and is now standard.

EcoTec is Vauxhall, don't mention that on here lol!

There are quite a few differences between the 'old' 1.0 EcoBoost and the newer type fitted to the Mk8 Fiesta although the main block is the same.
