Further to my thread where you were all so helpful in advice on how to remove the headlight controls. Whats the best way of removing both the driver/passenger side controls for the electric windows (to be replaced with new ones). Also in purchasing new ones i've found there is a single connector type and a double connector type, How do I know which ones are on mine without removing them? Its a Mk1 1998 Focus 1.8 16v Zetec. Any help much appreciated.

simple job mate

1. first remove the door panel if you prise the cover off the big handle for shutting the door youll find 2 screws remove these..

2.now remove the screw holding the interior handle its behind a plastic plug you pop off this will now slide back and come off.

3.now the door mirror take the adjuster and turn it it will come off now the cover pull it back at the end closest to the dash then push towards the rear of the car this will now come off.

4. back to the door youll find 2 screws on the bottom and two either side remove these from the door card now hold it and pull upwards and it will come off keep a hold of it.

5.you will now see the plug that connects the controls to the switch unclip this and the door panel can be put out the way judging by the year of youre car its a single connector.. to replace simply reverse the methods easy enough job takes 15mins or so
