Hey

Currently got a 59 plate focus 1.6 titanium model.

Been thinking of getting a newer focus and been told the ecoboost is the way forward. Any do and don't or advice be very greatly appreciated

Thanks luke

It depends which engine and which generation of Focus i.e. MK3, MK3.5 or the new MK4.

Personally I'd give the MK3 a swerve if you can't run (budget wise) to a MK3.5.  The MK3's have had no end of issues, various engines (failures on several different petrol unit as well as serious drivability issues with the 2.0 TDCi 163 BHP, clutch failures at ridiculously short mileages and an air condenser that seems to be made from melted chocolate i.e. it seem rather susceptible to damage and springing a leak.

If your current MK2.5 is still running well I'd say keep it until the MK3.5 is within your budget/
