Trip Computer Query

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 Focus 1.6 TDCi Sport. I am really pleased with the car generally, (except for the rear visibility!) but wondered about the accuracy of the trip computer. I do drive fairly sedately, but today, for example, I did a journey of about 30 miles, some of it in town, and the trip computer showed 66 mpg! Is this really possible? I have had more, like 70 mpg on occasion.

Regards

Syke

sounds optimistic to me with town driving included if im honest even for a diesel i think youre computers telling you porkys even ford dont claim 70mpg so ide say youre computers wrong nowt new there they are always over optimistic

That seems very good to me. Too good!

I actually calculate my MPG, and the trip computer seems to always be about 4MPG optimistic. I have a 2006 1.6TDCi, and I'm actually averaging 45MPG, which I have to say I'm quite disappointed with. I was hoping for at least 50MPG. The trip computer usually states around 49MPG.
