Exhaust

Featured Replies

Hi guys

i have a 2009 fiesta mk7 and the mounting brackets have snapped off so will need to get this sorted. Looking at the exhaust it looks like one whole pipe from the back box all the way to the cat. Should there me a join or two somewhere. I can get a new back box for it but don’t want the hassle of having to cut the pipe.

cheers

Factory exhausts are normally one piece, so you’ll need to cut it.

Go to an exhaust place or small garage, they should be able to weld a bracket on.

A garage with a ramp/lifting table and welding equip could weld a bracket in next to no time. Too many exhausts get replaced when a simple repair is needed.

When I replaced the backbox on my 2007 Fiesta 1.6tdci I found there was no join, so I had to saw through the pipe in the exact right place. Luckily I did get the position exact but sawing it was very difficult as so little room to move the hacksaw.

would have been much easier with one of these but I didn't have one
