C MAX 15 START BUTTON NOT WORKING HELP

Featured Replies

Click start stop button and it clicks but then says engine pending start and does nothing, this has happened before and seemed to sort itself, its had new batteries in fobs etc, im not sure what is causing it, this time i managed to open and close doors like immobiliser stuff and it started a few times from doing this, but now it wont go at all as if the brain is messed up, has this happened to anyone else? everything else comes on and it opens and closes just fine

Sorry to ask but you are pressing the clutch down before you press start aren't you? I don't mean to sound patronising but you would be amazed at the things people forget to do.

Lol yes! just makes a click and says engine pending start, ive tried keeping foot on clutch see if plugs need warming or something odd although always starts usually no issues but hey im willinging to try anything

also ive tried putting the key fob in the console, but i do not believe its the key fob battery or anything

Is this happening often or just during freezing temperatures?

Is your battery charged up enough?

All I can find online with your Engine Pending Start message relates to diesel models and the pre heating of the glow plugs. All of the information is on automatic models so it states you must keep your foot on the brake during the message to ensure the glow plugs pre heat properly. I imagine that would be the same as keeping the clutch pressed in a manual model.

You say about a click too though so I'm just wondering if the battery has insufficient power to pre heat the plugs and then turn over the engine.

Hopefully one of our resident experts will be able to help you.
