Hi all,

I have bought a MK7 ford Zetec 1.4 TDCI. I got the car for a great price, and it's in fairly good condition but I am looking to tidy it up to a great condition. My first issue is the stereo. It's unresponsive and the panel buttons do nothing. There is no sound, no ability to switch CD, radio, etc. There is a little cog in the bottom left corner illuminated.

When I boght the car I knew it had an issue with the radio but no idea about how serious it could be. I removed a CD that was stuck since the screen only showed the CD playing, and tried plugging it in again. I tried this a few times and know there is power to the stereo. Whilst I was trying to fix it - it would occasionally show the radio when i had removed the CD, or it would say CD ejecting, and then re-tract the CD.

I bought a second hand radio unit and tried changing it - still same. No response from the on/off button or the controls. I tried checking the fuses and it appears pulling the fuse had no impact, the unit looked like it was still on (which i didnt expect). Tried disconnecting the battery terminal and still no joy.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I have read it could be the FCDIM unit (display not feeding back to the unit). Has anyone ever experienced this?
